Why can Yahoo obvious scams to be displayed as advertisements on you?
Whenever I see an ad on YA is for a product that is well known to be a scam "penny stocks", acai berry, "miracle" supplements muscle growth. For example, I see the "John Bell wants to share his secrets on hacking the stock market" ad every day, but a quick search online will show that it a complete scam and impossible to implement. Yahoo is not responsible for the ads on here? Are they handled by a third party? scurvy – no company is obliged to let anyone advertise on their site unless they have a contract.
I raised this issue very Suggestions board few months ago. I was frustrated that some of the spammers we all report seem to advertise for free. It turns out that some of Yahoo's advertising space is sold to consolidators, who sell to others. Thus, Yahoo says no direct control (or even direct contact) with certain advertisers. In addition Thumbs Up / Down Flag, there are also spam battle on Thread Area suggestions. If an account is 100% commercial spam, you can report the entire account instead of individual questions and answers.
