Penny Stock Bar

New tire, different tread depth… ?!?!?
I just had a tire blowout on the rear wheel of my sedan a couple of days ago. When I went to get a replacement tire, I told them I’d rather buy only one new tire if that was safe and logical… they told me that it was because they had an equivalent model in stock. They replaced it and everything looks fine, but I’m wondering – the tread looks quite different (significantly deeper) on the new tire. There is still plenty of tread left on the opposite tire (passes the penny and wear bar test easily) – i’m just wondering if the difference in the amount of tread creates any sort of unsafe situation. The size is the same, different brands. THANKS in advance!
no problem, especially since its on the rear axle. i would recommend you leave it on the rear though. it could cause a wandering problem if the rear tires were put on the front. but your safe so dont worry
